I see this a lot:
*ding-ding*
You get a Slack notification.
“Let me know for a time we can connect today. Would want to give you a proper brief of the upcoming sale.”
*sigh*
Here we go again.
You send out a Zoom invite, hop on the call, and…
Waste 30 minutes of your life doing absolutely nothing.
As you left the meeting room, you couldn’t help but wonder:
“Why exactly did we need that meeting? There was nothing that couldn’t be easily communicated with a simple asynchronous 5-minute Loom recording.”
There is zero benefit for anyone to have that call.
After working with e-commerce from 500k to 300M… and everything in between… I’ve come to the conclusion that –
99% of meetings are simply an inclusion of “fake productivity.”
In-house team members want to “show” that they are busy, so they fill their calendars with Zoom schedules.
But the real productivity?
That happens when you are “meeting” less and doing more.
That’s why I’ve decided to pivot my one-person email agency to 99% asynchronous operations moving forward.
My best clients don’t want more “meetings.”
They want me to come in, take responsibility, and get to work immediately.
They want results.
And only results.
So, that’s what I’m going to give them.
Talk soon,
