For e-Commerces Doing $500k Or More –
Want to increase your email revenue by 50~200%?
Here Are 7 Reasons Why Partnering With Wuyen Hsu Is Your Best Choice
(Even though I’m a “non-native” English speaker…)
Dear Whomever Is Reading,
My mentor – Daniel Throssell – once told me:
“It’s an AWFUL experience trying to find the right freelancer or agency to work with.
Think of how boring it is to go through 46 needy job applications with identical cover letters. 🤢 So, if you want to stand out, here’s what you should do instead,” he continued with a smirk…
“Tell a joke and make people laugh!😏”
Well, that’s unfortunate.
As a non-native English speaker…
I have to admit, I never really understood American (or British) humor.
That’s my one weakness when it comes to the language.
So, instead, I’ll let ChatGPT help me out…
Hey ChatGPT, tell me a joke about hiring an email specialist:
“Why did the company hire an email specialist?”
“Because they wanted to make sure their hiring process wasn’t flagged as spam and ended up in the ‘junk candidates’ folder!”
Okay…
That’s lame.😅
I guess we’re still a long way from AI-robots taking over the world…
But in the next five minutes, I’ll prove to you why I’m the best fit to take over your email marketing:
Reason #1:
I’m a new revenue source, not an expense
I remember reading a post on Reddit: r/ecommerce forum asking –
“Why don’t you hire an agency to handle all of your email marketing?”
Every comment falls along the same line…
“They’re expensive… and most of them don’t get any results. Even if I break even, I’m out of the money I spend on the agency.”
It’s true.
Unlike what gurus like to claim, email marketing isn’t free.
Sure, it has way higher ROI compared to ANY other advertising channel.
But there are costs associated with building, keeping, and nurturing the list.
Simply owning a 10,000-subscriber Klaviyo account can cost you $2,100+ per year. Not to mention the cost of hiring a copywriter plus a list manager.
That’s why I like to work with e-commerces in a partnership model. This way, I’m invested in getting them the best results – while shouldering the financial risk myself.
Reason #2:
I’m an engineer-turned-copywriter
My first job after graduating was as a mechanical engineer.
I help architects and contractors design the HVAC system for their buildings.
Do you know how much it costs to delay construction for a week in San Francisco?
Go ahead, Google it.
It’ll blow your mind!
(To give you an example: PG&E – the gas and power company in San Francisco – is costing the city $41 million due to delays.🤯)
And this is why I’m always serious about any deadline.
Reason #3:
But I’m NOT just a copywriter…
Imagine it’s one of those busy days.
You wake up at 6 in the morning…
But you don’t have time to eat breakfast or brush your teeth. There are ‘fires’ everywhere – from customer support to broken supply chains to meeting requests.
You push through, trying to keep everything under control.
By the afternoon, your brain is toasted.
Now, imagine you have to…
Brainstorm and strategize your email marketing yourself…
Go back and forth with a copywriter to fine-tune the campaign…
Then, figure out how to set up and track the campaign correctly…
…when all you want to do is relax and watch Netflix.
Not appealing. 😕
And that’s why you need more than a copywriter. You need an email specialist who can help you plan, build, and manage your email campaigns for you.
The most important part? He has to take charge without you micromanaging every little task.
Reason #4:
Just like you, I hate “salesy” emails
Old-school direct-response marketers will tell you that “brand voice” is a myth. It’s all about Big Ideas, curiosity hooks, persuasion techniques, bigger claims, and FOMO.
But the truth is…
Unless you’re Agora Financial – a publishing company *literally* built by direct-response copywriters – brand voice matters!
Branding is the reason why Apple fans are willing to camp outside the store for the latest iPhone. It’s also the reason why…
Tesla fans are willing to invest in an expensive car that only lasts 262 miles on a single charge (when a Toyota Camry can easily double that mileage).
And this is where I can help:
I’ll help you build YOUR tribe using the power of storytelling…
…instead of relying on “50% oFF fLaSH sALe – ToDayyyy oNly!!!!!”
(Want proof? Well, you’re still reading… Coincidence? 😉)
Reason #5:
I don’t use “templates”
“When the world zigs, zags.” – Barbara Noakes
There are a lot of “templates” and “swipes” in the market.
But they’re overused, boring, and lack personality.
And the “boringness” is a much bigger problem than everyone realized.
Why?
Because things have changed a lot in the last 50 years.
In the 1970s, we only saw 500 to 1,600 ads per day…
But in 2022, the average person saw 4,000 to 10,000 ads a day.
That’s 6 to 8 times more!
Therefore, your prospects are immune to boring, lookalike templates. And they’ve learned to ignore emails that look and feel like “just another promotion.”
This brings us to the single most important marketing concept in the 2020s and beyond…
Marketing is now a game of entertainment more than anything else.
Need proof?
Look at all the advertisements that went viral in 2023:
- The Dunkin’ ad featuring Ben Affleck.
- The PopCorners ad with the original cast of Breaking Bad.
- The General Motors & Netflix ad starring Will Ferrell.
You’ll notice that there is always an element of entertainment.
So, if you want to make customers love and look forward to buying your products… and destroy all competition to create a blue ocean…
…make your email fun and entertaining.
And that is where I can help.😏
Reason #6:
I’m a fast and resourceful learner
The world is changing faster than we believe.
A few years ago, AI was only talked about in Sci-Fi movies.
On November 30, 2022, OpenAI released an early demo of ChatGPT.
Fast forward to today, the market is full of fear and desperation…
…scared that AI robots will take everyone’s job.
All of that means to thrive in this market; we have to be reasonably smart and learn to adapt fast.
Well, I LOVE to learn new stuff.
Whether that’s a new market, an innovative product, or technology.
If we decide to partner together, the first thing I’ll do is research and learn everything about your market, your business, and your product.
(As for the “smart” part… I’ll provide some proof at the end of this page😏)
Reason #7:
I specialize in one thing only
It’s funny when copywriters claim, “I specialize in email marketing… but I can also help you with Facebook ads, VSL, webinar, sales page, SEO content, etc.”
Seriously.
I checked the Merriam-Webster.
That’s not what “specialize” means. Specialize means:
I focus 100% of my energy – putting in my 10,000 hours – on mastering one particular skill. That is…
To help e-commerces make more sales using story-powered emails.

P.S. I know I’m still a random guy you found on the Internet…
So, here’s a quick 60-second intro:
Hi, my name is Wuyen Hsu (pronounced “shu”), the owner of this site… the marketing mastermind behind multiple 7 and 8-figure e-commerces… the longest working freelancer for a 9-figure e-commerce team (I think the only other original team member left is the CEO)… the copywriter behind dozens of email campaigns that are generating $1-10k per week on autopilot…
And Here’s My “Elevator Pitch”:
I help e-commerces build a Relationship-Driven Profit Engine to maximize profit without spending more on ads.
About My Background:
I graduated with an Engineering Leadership Master’s Degree from the University of California, Berkeley, in 2012.
Our program (aka M.Eng) required us to take classes from the Business School and work on collaborative projects with industry leaders. So, I know a fair bit about “traditional” business education, too.
In case you’re wondering…
I graduated with a 3.925 GPA, a straight A with only two A-, in 9 short months. which basically means I’m smart and hard-working.
But the truth?
Who cares? A degree matters very little in the real world of marketing. Even testimonials and past results can be worthless without context.
So, maybe we’re a fit. Maybe not. But if you’re interested to find out.
