Yesterday, I saw a post asking about a DM from “FB” – a warning message notifying the owner about a page ban.
“Important Notification:
Your Facebook page is scheduled for permanent deletion due to a post that has infringed upon our trademark rights. (the DM continues for a few hundred words)”
Now, this is obviously a scam.
But the reason I know it’s a scam is hilarious.
Here’s my comment on the post:
“FB don’t really use FB.🤣 they’ll maybe send you an email… or (more often) just kill your page/account without warning.”
And that, my friend, is an interesting insight –
Why do FB, Google, X, etc… insist on using email as their main communication channel?
(when they claim, “Email is dead… we’re the next big thing!”)
Because email is still the most reliable channel.
It’s the perfect balance between professionalism and intimacy.
(SM being too unprofessional while SMS being too intimate)
This makes email the single most effective marketing channel for online stores. (that’s why Amazon will NEVER give you the email list)
With that being said…
Email is also the most misunderstood tool.
There is so much incorrect information that I’m creating a list of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) to answer all the repetitive questions.
Hit reply and let me know –
What’s your #1 question about email marketing right now?
I’ll include your question in my list.
(and send you a copy of the answers when I’m done)
Cheering for you,
Wuyen
