what y’all think about the Olympics opening?

I was watching the opening for the Paris 2024 Olympics this past weekend.

Yeah, there were a lot of problems:

  • From the upside-down flag…
  • To the wrong Korea…
  • To the dancer’s wardrobe malfunction…
  • To the technical glitches during Lady Gaga’s performance…

(btw – I find it hilarious that people are offended by the little performance. No, it does not resemble the Last Supper… I wouldn’t even make that connection if you don’t bring it up. But now that you have, it’s the only thing people remember.)

Anyhoo…

It might feel like a total disaster, and that’s why many people are yelling –

“You can’t make it perfect with SEVEN years of planning? France sucks!”

But mistakes are inevitable.

Just like in email marketing.

You can check, double-check, and triple-check all the campaigns, yet…

Klaviyo decides to revert everything to the wrong version AFTER you’ve saved, tested, and scheduled.

Yes, it’s annoying… even costly!

But when it happens, there are only two paths:

1) You can agonize over the mistake and blame the world;

OR

2) You can focus on crushing the next campaign.

It’s up to you.

But keep in mind…

When that super embarrassing and unforgivable mistake haunts you for the rest of your life. Well…

Cheering for you,
