what happens after a flash sale

Today is Saturday.

I usually do my 100 Welcome Sequence Challenge. But since I’m on a streak of sharing lessons learned from my recent launch, I don’t want to break my chain of thought.

We’ll return to the original theme next week.

Imagine you’re running a sales event:

You have a jump-off-the-cliff 50% off deal. You’ve been hammering your list for 6 days. You’ve been selling every possible hook, angle, story, and testimonial. You’ve been ironing the “insane discount offer” in your prospects’ minds using ads, emails, SMS, postcards, and pigeon mail.

Today is judgment day.

You close the cart.

And now what?

.

…

….

…..

I’ll let you think for a second because it’s infinitely more helpful than just giving you the answer.

…..

….

…

..

.

Here’s what I did:

I sold the same product… at FULL PRICE.

Yup.

I told everyone the sale was over… there will be no deadline extension… and they should buy at full price. The result?

$2,606 from two post-sales emails.

Now, of course, there are ninja psychology tactics I pulled to reverse the price anchor in those emails, but the lessons here:

1 – People will still buy after a hard promo

2 – Don’t assume prospects will only buy with a discount

3 – Send more emails

(I’m a broken record by this point, but I want to hammer the idea into your mind)
