the easiest way to get customers

“The number you’re calling is currently busy, please…”

“The number you’re calling is currently busy, please…”

Imagine recalling 200 times…

Just to make a reservation for an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Any buffet.

Yeah, that’s how popular buffets are in Taiwan.

I never understood this – because I think buffets are overpriced… with lower quality food than similar-price restaurants.

So, yesterday, I interviewed my wife, Tracy (who loves buffets).

REPORTER: *cough* Why do you love buffets?

TRACY: Well… part of it is because everyone can find something they like…

(she hesitated for a second)

TRACY: But mainly it’s because of the marketing.

REPORTER: huh, marketing?

(wait, I’m the marketing geek… I guess couples do look alike)

TRACY: Yes, all the influencers – including YouTubers, celebrities, Instagram models, and even the news – are talking about these buffets.

REPORTER: (nodding in agreement)

TRACY: A lot of time, it’s herd behavior. The more people talk about it, the more you want to try it, the harder it is to make a reservation… and even more people talk about it…

Yeah, that’s the power of staying top of mind.

I’ve worked with a restaurant client before, and we’ve discovered that:

It doesn’t matter what you offer…

(you don’t need a discount or any incentive)

All you have to do is –

Remind your prospects that you exist and people will come more often.

You can do this with social media, paid advertising, or email.

The channel doesn’t matter.

The only difference is…

Social media only gives you about 5% of organic reach these days.

Paid advertising is expensive to run without a break-even funnel.

And email is (almost) free.

All of that means if you’re not using email to stay top-of-mind, you’re missing out on many low-hanging fruits.

The question is:

How can you email more often without being annoying?

Well, that’s where I can help.
