the best email marketing does this…

I’ve visited several Disney Parks—California, Florida, Orlando, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. But Tokyo Disneyland is by far the best.

Why?

Because the whole experience is magical.

The people are polite. The workers LOVE their job. The employees go out of their way to help you. The tourists are dancing to the music.

(I’m not kidding. You will see tourists dancing to Baymax while waiting in line)

Compare that to my experience at Hong Kong Disneyland…

“Excuse me, how can I get to this?”

*I pointed at the name of an event*

The employee looked up at me, looked down at the flyer, looked at the baby on my arm, and said –

“We have a map there. You can go check in out yourself.”

(pointing across the street without a single smile)

I did not know this answer was ALLOWED in Disney’s training manual… but it’s also very HK. 🤣

No wonder Tokyo Disney sells the most merch, and…

Hong Kong Disney is finally turning a net profit for the first time in 10 YEARS in 2024. (thanks to the new Frozen-themed area)

Now, let’s make an awkward transition back into email marketing.

I always like to say:

“The best email marketing makes the email itself an incredible experience.”

Your subscribers should look forward to receiving, opening, and reading your stories. Your readers should get value (insight or a laugh) from reading the emails alone—even if they didn’t buy today.

If you can do this…

The selling will take care of itself. Just like how Tokyo’s magical experience helped them sell 594 billion yen in 2023.
