Last week… Nov 27 to be exact.
I shared a dumb post I saw inside a Klaviyo group. It’s too idiotic to repeat here. You can find that email if you want more context.
(subject: No, it doesn’t make sense)
Yesterday, Meta taunted me with another post inside the same group… with another dumb comment from this so-called marketer.
(Honestly, I don’t know if he can even be called a marketer.)
*sigh*
That’s why marketers get a bad rep.
Anyhoo…
Someone else was talking about how he sends plain-text emails… when this “marketer” jumped in and claimed:
“Slap a CTA above the fold and you’re done with your email.”
🤡🤡🤡
Honestly, I don’t know how to react.
The pure stupidity behind this comment is infuriating.
This is why so many brands are burned by these “agencies” and think “email marketing is dead.”
This is like saying –
“Pump a gallon of F1 engine fuel into your Toyota Camry, and you have a race car.”
This is not only dumb but also criminal-level fraud.
Imagine if a brand owner really believed what he said… and thinks, “Email is all about slapping a CTA above the fold.”
He follows this “advice”…
…and destroys his brand for good.
All the hard-earned trust? Down the drain.
All the potential — 5x future sales? Gone for good.
As a marketer, you have a moral obligation to steer your clients toward the right direction. To long-term success.
If you can’t do this, QUIT.
You are not fit for this job.
You’re not playing SimCity here.
You are working on people’s livelihoods.
To be continued…
