I love to watch renovation shows on Netflix – Dream Home Makeover, Instant Dream Home, Stay Here, and Designing Miami. (you named it, and I watched it.)
One thing I’ve noticed is that…
All the best-selling houses follow a few principles:
- Open floor plan
- Good flows
- Simple coloring
In other words, clean designs.
I think it’s because simplicity always trumps complication.
Same for your business.
Human beings have a natural tendency to make things more complicated.
But…
Complication introduces uncertainty.
Complication causes bugs.
Complication dilutes your resources.
(and reduces growth)
Instead, if you can strip away all the extra “fat” in your marketing, and focus on a few key metrics, you’ll experience exponential growth.
Now, let’s bring it back to email marketing.
Many brands obsess over split testing.
One for the subject line.
One for the lead.
One for the button.
Stop it already.
“If you do enough A/B testing, you’ll end up with a p.O.r.N S.I.t.e.”
– Seth Godin, Legendary Marketing Author
Instead, here’s a simpler approach:
Send 4 to 7 emails a week.
Focus on writing one entertaining story per email.
Test ONE new angle each time.
MONITOR the Earnings Per Subscriber for each campaign.
Repurpose the winning campaign as flows.
That’s it.
You have your winner(s).
Cheering for you,
Wuyen
P.S. – So far, I’ve covered the Map, Monetize, and Monitor. Next week, let’s wrap up the series with the last step Multiply.
In the meantime, if you’re not interested in the nitty gritty, and just want a professional to do it for you, shoot me an email with the word “ENGINE.”

I’ll share more details.
