On Fires, Preparation, and Growing for Your Business

It’s sad reading about all the tragedies happening in SoCal right now.

It reminds me of a chat with a Singaporean friend a few years ago.

If you look at the history of Singapore…

They don’t have a whole lot of horrifying disasters. They don’t have earthquakes, hurricanes, or huge dry lands to burn. Their gun control is so harsh that a single shot—without hurting anyone—can result in the death penalty.

But my friend told me:

“Every year, our government will send rescue teams worldwide to provide humanitarian support. Because our government knows –

The rescue teams need real-world experience BEFORE a disaster happens.”

You plan…

You put in the reps…

You get your hands dirty…

To increase even 1% of the possibility of saving a life during a major event.

Now, most business owners are not firefighters. We do not carry the same responsibility on our shoulders.

BUT

That does not mean the load is light.

Your family.

Your employees.

Your employees’ family.

They all rely on you, too.

The best thing you can do is to think ahead, plan, and put in the reps.

~ Double-check your product quality

~ Fix any customer support issues

~ Build that relationship with your list

Do all of these—in advance of a sales event—so that you can increase even 1% of the possibility of crushing that promotion. And…

Use that win to support those who might have lost everything right now.

Cheering for you,
