Last week, I did an experiment:
I picked up a record-breaking promotion plan from a top marketer (I’m talking about multiple 10-figure clients)…
Then –
I followed that plan, and…
…created a promo campaign for a client.
The result?
The sales crashed on the 4th day.
(when I say crashed, I mean literally lower than any of my previous campaigns)
So…
I scratched the plan…
Pivoted on day 6…
Rewrote everything…
Doubled down on wild storytelling…
And…
I broke the record.
158 sales in one day.
The client pinged me at 7 pm, exclaiming:
“BIG pick up yesterday.”
“🚀🚀🚀”
The reason I’m sharing this with you is…
I’ve realized that most “strategies” are overrated.
Yes, there are basic “rules” you want to know… to follow.
BUT
At the core of email marketing, it’s about one simple thing:
Write Emails People Love To Open, Read, and Click—CONSISTENTLY.
How do you do this?
You focus on writing stories that are so entertaining… the emails put a smile on your prospects’ face… pulling them out of their daily mundane—even for a split second…
If you can do this consistently every week…
You have a customer for life.
I call this:
Email Storyselling
And this will be my “evil masterplan” moving forward.
Learn the tech…
Understand the strategy…
But MASTER the storyselling.
To your success,
– WYH
P.S. – After writing for almost a decade…
I find myself circling back to where I started.
Write good stories and bank.
This is the beauty of simplicity.
The best part?
This echoes throughout all your marketing.
Ads. Sales page. Emails. SMS.
Yes, the context is different. The medium is distinct.
But the core is the same:
It’s all about storyselling.
