The other day, I was chatting with Tracy about our upcoming vacation to Okinawa.
The plan is to leave on a weekday to avoid the crowd.
A Wednesday morning.
As we were discussing the details, I couldn’t help thinking –
This is exactly why I started my own business.
Freedom
Sure, I still have “clients” to serve.
But I’m mostly living on my own schedule.
Now, ask yourself:
Why did YOU start your business?
Wealth? Sure.
Legacy? Absolutely.
But I’m willing to bet my little one’s milk bottle that a big part of it is to be your own boss… and live your own term.
You want to wake up when you want to wake up.
Do the work that you enjoy.
Have time for your family.
Take a vacation when you want to.
In other words, freedom.
The problem is…
Most business owners lose focus on what they want on this journey.
They start taking on more and more hats.
Operation. Logistic. Customer support. Advertising. Design. Email marketing.
One of my mentors once taught me:
“I don’t believe in ‘making it first’ and then coming back to design the lifestyle you want. Because that’s never how it turned out. If you want a certain lifestyle, you must build that lifestyle into your business model.”
I agree.
And if you, like me, want to create a business that values your freedom and lifestyle, you must embrace that concept in your business model.
Starting with…
Finding the right talents and letting go.
(and if you’re looking for someone to take email marketing off your shoulders so that you don’t have to think about email marketing, let’s chat)
Talk soon,
