The other day, a business owner told me:
“I do not have an email list. If I take myself as an example, unsolicited emails are very annoying.”
Okay, let’s dig into this statement:
*rubbing my hands*
FIRST
“I don’t have an email list.”
To which I can only say – do you hate money?
There’s a reason investors (or business buyers) always ask about your list before investing.
Your list is the #1 most important asset.
You’ve already paid for customer acquisition, meaning you can “acquire” these customers—again and again—without paying another dime to Zuckerberg.
In addition, your email list gives you something even more valuable –
CONTROL
You’re not subjected to the election frenzy…
…or the holiday ad cost spike
…or the next Google Slap.
You can write a simple email, send it, and make it rain whenever you need a boost on your bottom line. This feeling of security protects your sanity.
SECOND
“If I take myself as an example, unsolicited emails are very annoying.”
I agree. I’m obsessed with getting zero inboxes. So, I purge all unsolicited emails before I close my computer for the day.
But what does it have to do with your email list?
Are you considering buying shady leads from questionable sources?
If not, why are they unsolicited emails?
Look –
If you are building your business the right way—with a solid product, good support, and legitimate traffic—you should have a list of subscribers who WANT what you offer.
(prospects or past customers)
They have a problem, and you have a solution.
By not emailing them…
You are doing them a disservice.
(…unless you want people to stay stuck or buy an inferior option)
I don’t know who taught you to hate emails. However, your limiting belief in email marketing is one of the big things holding you back from scaling.
So… when you’re ready to change, hit me up.
Until then, you can continue working for Zuckerberg.
Cheering for you
