Being a professional hurts your finger

*PHHHHIZZZZZ*

“OUCH”

Last week, the little demon was playing with her water bottle again, smashing it on the floor. But this time…

A piece of the lid broke off.

I picked up the bottle…

“Hmm, I think it’s still usable?”

(hey, if I throw away everything the little monster breaks… I might as well throw away the house)

So… I picked it up, washed it, sanitized it, and kept it.

Until this morning…

I grabbed the bottle, filled it with hot water, and…

SUDDENLY

I felt something wet… something burning.

*PHHHHIZZZZZ*

The water bottle turned into a water bomb, blasting 100°C in all directions through the broken lid—burning three of my fingers.

Second-degree burn.

My finger looked like those foam rollers you find at the gym… with massive, irregular blisters covering the skin.

That’s why, right now, I’m typing this email with 3 fingers wrapped up like a mummy. And I have to admit…

It’s hard typing with a single hand.

Especially when you’re helping a client plan their biggest mid-year promotion in their brand history. We aim to double their revenue from BCFM last year.

But I kept writing.

Slow, maybe.

But I got it done.

Because I’m a professional.

And that’s what “being professional” means.

Back to work…
