How to Launch a Promotional Campaign – Part 11

When launching a rocket, the first 5 minutes are the most nerve-racking.

The air hangs heavy with silence.

Rows of people—engineers, analysts, and media—are staring at the launchpad screen. Eyes locked and wide… afraid to even blink.

The only sound in the control room is fingers adjusting switches, pen clicking, and engineers reporting their checks.

3, 2, 1…

The ground shakes like a volcano.

Flame and smoke billow out, covering the base of the rocket.

The gigantic monster takes off—starting slow and picking up speed.

The room remains silent…

Because the first 5 minutes will determine if all the hard work and resources will crash into the ocean.

Running a promotional launch is a lot like this.

Weeks of hard work…

Hundreds of thousands invested in inventories…

And the open cart day will determine 50% of the success.

Even though most of the sales will come on the last day… but the first day is critical.

It sets the tone.

Is it dull and salesy… or is it fun and creative?

It sets expectations.

Do you get tons of sales… or cricket?

It sets the vibe.

Do you have one excited client… or a ticking bomb?

Luckily

The rocket launch went great for my client’s recent promo.

13,878 of sales on the first day—with another 8,242 following the next day.

22k in the first 2 days alone.

This is the first time my client has tested a large promo in the first half of the year, so I don’t have a baseline to compare.

But last year…

They did ~9,854 during the opening of BF promo –

That’s a 224% increase. Not bad.

To be continued…
