How to find unlimited hooks

Yesterday, I promised you a demonstration on finding unlimited hooks for your emails so that you’re not always retreating to holiday discounts.

First, let’s imagine I’m selling… Tea?

OPTION 1: Looking at your calendar for inspiration

When it comes to Christmas, we think: family gatherings, joy, presents, and lots of great good. But here’s something most people don’t know –

In the 1830s, Christmas was a troubling day for the British government.

In the past, there weren’t many holidays. Christmas was one of the few days off for many British working and middle classes. This meant…

Boozying until you black out.

Workers would crowd the local bar, emptying their pockets for gin, rum, and illegal whisky. This created chaos.

Wives dragging their husbands out before their weekly pay was gone…

Husbands beating their spouses drunk…

Troublemaker roaming the streets…

The government needed a solution to this drinking problem.

The answer? A good cup of tea.

The government started hosting massive tea parties on Christmas Eve—like the 1,200 people gathering at Preston’s Cloth Hall in 1834. The tradition took off… spreading across the wild ocean to the United States.

Today, many of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants worldwide continue to throw elegant Christmas tea parties every year.

OPTION 2: Search for interesting historical stories

What do you think of when I say Tea?

Relax? Self-care? Ritual?

Then, you’d be surprised to know that tea was a mighty weapon during WWII.

Legends have it that during World War II, the essentials of a soldier included:

Bullets, grenades, and… tea bombs.

The tea bomb is a pre-packaged muslin bag of tea, sugar, and powdered milk.

No, it cannot “harm” anyone.

But it’s more critical than a deadly bullet.

Because even during the most brutal battlefield… when morale was low… and hope felt far away… soldiers could brew a comforting cup in any setting.

This was so important the government would do anything in its power to make sure every soldier had multiple tea bombs, even during the harshest conditions.

OPTION 3: Lean into pop culture

Many people think tea is for the elderly.

But one of the die-hard tea fans is Lady Gaga.

The day was Feb 16, 2010. Cloudy. Light rain. A gentle breeze blowing toward the Northeast. The typical weather in London.

Lady Gaga was on the stage—accepting her Best International Artist award from the 2010 British Award Ceremony. But this time…

It wasn’t the boring “thank you speech.”

The crowd was buzzing with excitement and confusion…

“What’s that on her hand?”

Lady Gaga surprised everyone by holding a porcelain cup, promoting herbal tea in all possible ways throughout every interview.

This went viral—with a tea company offering her a million-dollar contract.

But she didn’t take it…

Instead –

Lady Gaga broke the media with a charity campaign called ‘Cup of Kindness”—donating all the profit from the herbal tea to help those in need.

OPTION 4: Dig up interesting animal stories

You probably know that the Chinese are huge about tea. China produces over three million metric tons of tea—nearly half the global demand.

In fact…

The Chinese love tea so much that they… feed it to their beloved pandas!

Yup, you heard me correctly.

To encourage pandas to get off their butt… and play with gym toys…

Zoos would use leftover tea leaves to draw their attention. Because pandas are naturally attracted to the rich, earthy scents.

OPTION 5: Share some personal stories

When I got married, my wife and I had an agreement.

If she is ever angry, all I need to do is –

Buy her a bubble milk tea.

The rich, creamy flavor of the milk. The light, earthy finish after each sip. The chewy yet satisfying boba. And the perfect balance between the unsweetened tea and the brown sugar boba.

It works like magic—every time.

(not that I get her angry a lot…)

So… next time you’re in a heated fight.

Consider this:

I can go on, but you get the point.
