Interesting news—Google made a new security update:
Gmail will now flag most commercial emails as “look like spam.”
Whenever there is an image, there will be a button at the top of all your emails saying –
“This may not be safe. Do you want to mark it as spam”
This means:
1. Design-heavy, image-loaded emails are going to see a dip in deliverability
2. Open rate tracking is down the drain
(most open rate tracking involves putting a little image/pixel in your email)
3. You can’t even have an image in your email signature or footer
Yeah, it sucks big time for most e-commerces.
This also means:
~ Imageless, story-driven emails will thrive
~ You must find another way to track deliverability (since OR is dead)
~ Your Welcome Flow becomes even more vital
Because if someone is attracted to your world, and falls in love with your emails during the Welcome Sequence, your sender name becomes your best protection from spam complaints.

Cheering for you,
