Gmail is pooping on images yet again

Yesterday, I checked my inbox and found an email from Costco.

I opened up the email to find…

A mostly blank page.

“Huh, that’s weird.”

“It usually shows automatically…”

I clicked the “Display Image Below” button, then waited…

A good 5 SECONDS for the email to load!

GOSH

I felt old by the time the images loaded.

Looks like the Gmail God is pooping on images yet again.

Even trusted emails—which I open and read—get their images blocked for the first time (like Costco). On top of that…

It’s taking longer and longer to load these images.

(and this is happening on both mobile and PC)

Here’s the deal:

This is the nature of the modern world.

Things change rapidly.

Platforms mess around with their algorithm every other day.

You must stay on top of all the changes as a business owner.

From social media to advertising, SEO, email marketing… and the freaks destroying your local libraries.

(if you don’t know what I mean, search: Libraries: Last Week Tonight)

And that’s why I advocate for simplicity:

  1. Acquisition (one paid, one earned)
  2. Retention (email marketing)

That’s all.

Please keep it simple to save your sanity.

Cheering for you,
Wuyen

P.S. – I’m testing out a new emailing schedule. So…

Moving forward, you’ll get a broadcast on Saturday, not Monday.

Let’s give it a few weeks and see how it goes.
