Yesterday, I was chatting with an insurance broker who used to be an agent.
He was sharing many of the industry’s “dark, forbidden” secrets.
One thing he revealed:
“I always suggest NOT to buy life-long terms because…
You’d be shocked by how many people never even recover the original premium. Not even considering the inflation and interest rates.
In most cases…
You’ll be better off putting that money in a savings account and withdrawing it later.
Because there are so many hidden disclosures inside the 6-point terms & conditions.”
This reminds me of how marketers love to throw around –
“Lifetime Guarantee”
Yes, it increases conversion.
Yes, most people will not ask for a refund.
However, I never offer a guarantee for my email marketing services.
Because I can either:
- Create an ironclad guarantee that attracts newbie businesses who are not ready to invest in their email marketing
OR
- Work with only the business owners who are the right fit
Since I can only work with 3 to 4 clients at any given time…
I choose the latter.
Now, here’s the no-shame, blatant pitch:
In the next few weeks, I’m taking one more client to help them maximize their customer lifetime value without feeling invasive with their email marketing.
You must be a food & beverage e-commerce.
You must have an email list.
You must have a good product.
(something I’ll want to buy myself)
If that sounds like you, let’s chat.
But don’t reach out if you “need” a money-back guarantee because you won’t be able to put food on the table if I don’t hit a homerun by 4 pm tomorrow.
Talk soon,
