before you run any promotion, you need this

Last week, a client forwarded me a reply:

“I have no issues where the tea is concern.

I enjoy the tea.

I would not like to receive mails with other people opinion.

That is my request.

Thank you.”

…..

….

…

..

.

Okay. You almost lost me there. Because this reply is so dumb that… even re-reading it now almost fried my brain.

Let’s break this down, line-by-line:

“I have no issues where the tea is concern.”

What does that even mean?

This is a client who sells… I’ll give you a second to guess it…

Yup, TEA.

So, we’ve never sent a single email that doesn’t “concern tea.”

“I enjoy the tea.”

Oka…y? Even people who can’t write love our tea.

I guess that’s a good thing?

“I would not like to receive mails with other people opinion.”

🤦

I can really see how the modern education system has failed society.

Did he not realize that…

…every

…single

…word

…online

…is

…an

…opinion

…by other people?

Like. Literally. I cannot send an email that’s not someone else’s opinion. Because… (I’m about to blow your mind)… I WROTE THE EMAIL –

AT LEAST IT IS GOING TO BE MY OPINION

In addition –

What would you call testimonials…

…or the most popular thing in the tea community is “tasting notes”?

What is a tasting note?

OThEr pEoPLe’s oPIniON

(Even a science paper is to a certain degree THE OPINION OF THE SCIENTIST)

*sigh*

“That is my request. Thank you.”

Oh. What did you say?

You want me to kick you off the list?

Request accepted.

Yes, this is exactly what I recommended to my client. To remove this subscriber from the list. It doesn’t matter if he’s a long-time customer…

There is no way you can “please” someone like this, and keeping him on the list will eventually hurt your entire deliverability.

The reason I want to bring this up to you right before I share the Ultimate BFCM Playbook is because you will run into a lot of retard dumb weird dumb replies during promotion.

I don’t care WHAT you send.

You will get these brain-dead replies.

You can send a 5-star review on one product and STILL get people who “don’t want other people’s opinion.”

So… if you want to run a successful (and profitable) holiday promotion, you need a thick skin. A mentality that can resist and laugh at these types of comments.

If you can’t…

Well…

You’re in the wrong business, and you don’t need my opinion.

To be continued…
