We all have that one friend:
Let’s call him Frank.
He’s your high school classmate who you barely remember. You haven’t spoken for decades and only vaguely connected through social media.
First, there were a few “inspirational” quotes.
Then, there were pictures of weird gatherings.
Finally, the DM…
“hey, hey”
“hello?”
“it’s been a long time since we’ve talked. How are you?”
“…fine.”
“have you heard of A-M-W-A-Y?”
INSTANT BLOCK
You know how annoying this is, so…
Why are you doing this to your subscribers?
– they join your email list
– no welcome sequence. no broadcasts.
– cricket for two weeks
– “we have this 50% off BF/CM sales. Buy now”
*sigh*
That’s why email marketing gets a bad name.
Here’s a crazy idea:
Instead of going radio silence…
What if you welcome your new subscribers with passion? Tell them about your mission. Share why you started this business. Talk about the problem you’re solving. Stop spamming people with poster ads.
Connect with them like a human being.
Tell stories.
Build a relationship.
Make your stand.
(and remind them what you offer—frequently)
So, when the timing is right, you are the #1 choice. Wouldn’t that get you more sales without the awkward sleaziness?
Just wondering.
Cheering for you,
– WYH
