Last week, a storm shadowed over Taiwan for almost three days.
The government issued an emergency two days off, dividing the island into two worlds:
Up North – hundreds of thousands of people crowded the malls, KTV, and movie theaters…
Down South – hundreds of thousands of homes lost power and water…
Both sides wondered WTF was going on—for every different reason.
This reminded me of the costly mistake I see from 6 and 7-figure e-commerces trying to scale:
Making quick assumptions based on their knowledge or experience.
* They can spell their domain name backward, so they assume people will always remember the brand
* They are thinking about their business every hour, so they assume people will buy without constant follow-ups
~ They know they’ve invested heavily into production, so they assume people will know the product is awesome
But the truth is –
Nobody is thinking about your product but you.
Nobody will remember you unless you stay top of mind.
Nobody will buy from you unless you start selling.
Stop assuming and start marketing.
Cheering for you,
Wuyen
