I’ve been holding off on any comments on the Hormo-effect for almost a week…
Partly –
Because I was too busy to attend the show.
But more importantly…
Because I felt something was off.
If you’re connected to the Internet Marketing community in any ways, you’ve probably experienced this yourself:
On Aug 17, Alex Hormozi hosted a Guinness World Record-breaking event. The rumor on the street was that he sold over 2M books in 24 hours.
Suddenly –
The “whole world” wanted to force their comments down your throat.
Half the world was raving about how brilliant he was—and how he did over 150M in one day. The other half was leveraging the storm… stirring up conversation by showing how “meh” his marketing strategy was.
The interesting part?
Both felt true.
I don’t know the actual figure.
I doubt it was really 150M…
(and much, much less to take home)
But regardless, it’s still a very impressive sales figure—even at zero margin.
On the other hand…
Something felt weird about his marketing.
To give you one example:
I didn’t optin to his email list. I didn’t join his webinar.
I was too busy working on a client’s promo campaign this month (which broke the client’s history record, too 😉). I didn’t even know AH came out with another book until my feed was flooded with comments.
BUT
I started receiving his email (+ SMS) on Aug 17… at least 9 outreaches in one day. Then…
Another 9+ the next day.
THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF SPAM.
I even dig back into my inbox to make sure… I’ve never received ANYTHING from him, and I haven’t subscribed to his newsletter.
So, I’m pretty confident I never “asked” for these emails.
There’s no way you can convince me this is “good marketing.”
It’s not even LEGAL.
This was why I didn’t want to join the circus… and comment on anything.
UNTIL
I came across a post by Colin Theriot, one of the most unique minds in the Internet Marketing world:

And now, everything makes sense.
I recommend you read this post… because it echoes the core concept I shared with you in yesterday’s email on the most EFFECTIVE way to sell your product.
To your success,
